The story of Saint Nicholas is the basis for the popular modern-day figure of Santa Claus, who is said to deliver presents to children on Christmas Eve. Saint Nicholas was known for his kindness and generosity, and is often depicted as a jolly old man with a white beard. Many people around the world continue to celebrate the feast day of Saint Nicholas on December 6th.
